Net Worth - the two words

One of the most popular combinations of words used by an Entrepreneur are "Net Worth" and it's become my life goal to PERFECT the combination of these two powerful words.  This is NOT about money but about NET WORTH!  My thoughts...

BUSINESS: In Business, your net worth is all about the dollar amount you have in disposable income after all things are said and done.  It's about the footprint you leave on everybody else as you climb to the American Dream of working bell to bell and counting your successes and failures in the experience called a career which in turn becomes a number. When you arrive at your first, second or final goal do you look back and decide for yourself what the Net Worth of all things done has cost you and everyone you touched?

FAMILY: In Family, your net worth can be so many different things.  Your relationship with your mate or your calculation of how well you DIDN'T mess up your kids and could also be measured by the amount of "collateral damage" you either got away with or minimized.  When you look at your mate, your children, spouses and uncles, aunts, parents as a "unit" can you measure your success in your interaction with all of them?  In my humbling opinion, it's about how much you cared to be a positive and impactful member of your family unit.  We all have moments but when you look from the glass house, what is your true Net Worth in your family unit?

FRIENDSHIPS: You choose your friends which is the only difference in the Net Worth of this important part of our lives and that of Family.  I had the great fortune of spending a morning golfing recently with a great friend and it's why I was motivated to write this blog today.  The takeaway from our 5 hour round together was summed up in only a few minutes of the early morning together. The friendships you choose to participate in can mold your every day actions and your perceived happiness. What can you say about the Net Worth of the relationships you choose to participate in?

LEGACY: When all is said and done, can you measure your moments in everything with a Net Worth statement of how and when you have impacted others? What would everyone around you say is the Net Worth of your existence in the time you spent with others?

FUTURE: It's not hard in my opinion to SET your Net Worth in the future.  From all of life's lessons I've decided to be impactful and worthy of my existence TO others.  I'm dedicated to making a difference tomorrow and ever day I have.  This sets my Personal Net Worth at such a high level that I am excited to wake up every morning and it reminds me of the anxiety and uplifting feeling of waking up on Christmas morning as a young lad.  How will you motivate yourself and be a visionary of your own destiny in order to DEFINE your True Net Worth?

SUMMARY: In my experiences, and there have been many, defining my Net Worth to others is something I can do that drives directly back to my own happiness and Net Worth.  Finding a way to focus my energy on positive thoughts and actions gives me more pleasure than counting the numbers in the Business Net Worth.  What measurement will you use and what are your metrics in Net Worth?

WIT - What you may not know about this phrase...

Wit is defined as a form of intelligent humor of course, however, the WIT I'm referring to is not that simple.  It's an acronym that our partner Microsoft uses alongside many other other organizations and partners throughout the industry.  This blog is all about how these "WIT" people have enabled RyanTech. W OMEN I N T ECHNOLOGY At RyanTech we've worked very hard to create an image of credibility, investment and second to none support for our customers.  Over the years we've invested time in organizations such as EO ( The Entrepreneur's Organization ), IAMCP ( The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners ) as well as the MCC ( Microsoft Community Connections ) and participated in the Partner Engagement Board for Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference.  All of these engagements have brought value to Me as the CEO and the company as a whole however what's most important about these engagements is that it's taught me to h

Questions from attendees at DD14 on Cloud

Thank you for those who attended the 8:30 session this morning which I know could be tough.  Congratulations to our first 10 attendees that walked away with Windows 8 and Office 2013 for FREE!  For those that did not attend, here are my notes and answers to questions asked after the presentation.  The presentation was recorded and will be available online by Digital Dealer as they have prepared. Q.  Why is Windows XP not compliant in April, 2014?      A. The support for operating system updates and security patches will no longer be supported by Microsoft after April, 2014.  Due to the lack of updates, the operating system will no longer by PCIC or GLB compliant.  What's more is that users will likely be targeted for attacks from cyber criminals just as has happened in the past with retired operating systems. Q. We are thinking about utilizing thin clients instead of PCs in our store.  Do you have any recommendations for us?      A. Since most thin client systems use either W

Are You Running Last Decade’s Software?

R unning a dealership is a complex business and requires computers to manage operations. Sure, there’s a DMS to handle inventory, accounting and OEM requirements, but we’re talking about the day-to-day business that requires multiple devices and PCs, with licensed operating systems and office software. Unfortunately, most dealerships aren’t keeping their PCs current, licensed and legal. Recently, thousands of dealerships were surveyed and scanned regarding their use of basic PC office software and technology. In a survey done by Microsoft Cloud Services, information was collected on how many PCs/laptops were at a dealership and what operating system and software was installed. In addition, dealers were surveyed on the number of unique e-mail addresses and how those addresses are being utilized. The results aren’t pretty. This will give you the opportunity to see where your dealership fits in. Dealerships, on average, have 80 PCs with 100 e-mail addresses, along with a varie
